From the St. Luke's
Hospital Training School for Nurses Records, #4765, Rush University
Medical Center Archives, Chicago, Ill. See webpage for more
information [ http://rushu.libguides.com/rusharchives ] St. Luke's
Hospital was founded in 1864. In 1885, the hospital founded the
Training School for Nurses, also known as the School of Nursing
(SLHSN). In 1956, St. Luke's Hospital merged with Presbyterian
Hospital to create Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital, located on
Chicago's west side. The nursing schools and their alumni
associations merged at that time, also. These annual announcements,
1913-1956, include lists of faculty and graduates, rules and fees,
course requirements, and course descriptions. Some announcements
include pictures of the hospital campus and nursing areas. It is
unclear whether announcements for 1919, 1923, 1925, and 1941
were produced, but those years are not represented in this
collection.
